Data, Fit to forecast employee well-being trends for 2024.

The last few years have resulted in countless changes to the employee experience. How we work, where we work, and the overall expectation of the workplace experience has risen from background noise to breaking news.

In today’s fast-paced and demanding world, employee well-being, both physical and mental health have become crucial aspects of overall quality of life. And in 2024, we can expect it to only gain more importance. But things will be challenging to businesses that don’t make employee well-being a priority.

According to a recent poll study, 55% of respondents polled predict that their overall well-being, both physical and mental health in 2024 will improve based on their organization’s willingness to add well-being programs.

The bad news.

Job-related physical exhaustion and stress contribute to worsening mental and physical health conditions and increased time off.

40% predict that more people will suffer job burnout in 2024 than in the previous years.

Additionally, 62% believe that the labor market in 2024 will bring us more stress than in previous years.

From a physical and muscular health standpoint the workforce is less fit than 10 years ago and 61% polled said they don’t exercise regularly.

These and more perceptions highlight the need for proactive measures. The upcoming year poses an opportunity to prioritize physical and mental health and implement strategies to make workplaces more sustainable and supportive.

So, here’s the good news.

87% of surveyed workers believe that employers will prioritize employee well-being, physical, and mental health more in 2024 compared to previous years.

84% believe that organizations will increase their investment in employees’ physical, mental health, and well-being programs in 2024.

81% think organizations will offer employees more physical and mental health resources and support in 2024

78% predict that organizations will be more proactive in identifying and addressing burnout and work-related stress among employees in 2024 than in 2023.

77% say there will be a greater focus on work-life balance in 2024.

The data portrays a positive outlook on the evolving landscape of employee well-being programs across all industries, indicating a strong desire from employees for organizations to take more substantial and comprehensive steps in supporting their workforce’s physical and mental health needs for the year ahead.
